John S. Melo passed away on January 28, 2012. A resident of San Leandro, he had a passion for wine making, cooking, watching soccer games and playing slots at the casinos. Born in Portugal on June 13, 1925, he is survived by two daughters, Conceicao and Lidia, and other extended family residing in Portugal. A retired machinist, he is also survived by his wife, Maria and two stepchildren, Mary Sousa of San Leandro and Frank Sousa (Lynn) of San Carlos, and two grandchildren, Ricky Marques and Anamaria Sousa.
Family and Friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, Feb. 2nd from the hours of 5:00 - 8:30 pm with a Vigil at 7:00 pm at Holy Angels Funeral Center, 1051 Harder Rd., Hayward. Funeral Services will be on Friday, Feb. 3rd at 11:00 am at Holy Angels Funeral Center. Burial to follow to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
