Lawrence (“Bud”) R. Blair
Entered into rest on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the age of 90 years. Bud served in the U.S. Army during World War II in New Guinea and The Philippines. He attended the University of California at Berkeley receiving a degree in civil engineering, was employed by the City of Hayward for 30 years and retired as the Water Superintendent of the Hayward Water Department. Bud was an avid reader and also enjoyed golfing, fishing, poker games and watching baseball and football. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mildred M. Blair. He is survived by his devoted children Mary Blair of Livermore, Lawrence (“Larry”) R. Blair, Jr. of Castro Valley, Bernadette Rowley (David) of Livermore, Joseph Blair (Susie) of Manteca, and John Blair of Hayward and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, December 13th from the hours of 5:00 - 8:30 pm at Holy Angels Funeral Center, 1051 Harder Rd., Hayward. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, December 14th at 11:00 am @ Holy Angels Funeral Center. Burial to follow to Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, CA.
