Catherine Mastro passed away on December 2, 2011, after a sudden illness at the age of 91. She was born in Oakland, California, and was the only child of Irma and Adamo Corsi. Catherine was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, James Mastro of 37 years. They were married June 6, 1942. She is survived by her loved son James Adam Mastro, daughter-in-law, Nikki Lynn Mastro, grandson, Anthony James Mastro and his wife, Brandy Nicole Mastro, and great-granddaughter Alyssa Rebecca Mastro, and grandson Mark Joseph Mastro, and his wife, Jennifer Lynn Mastro. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Linda Jeanne Johnsen, son-in-law, Ronald Walter Johnsen, grandson, Robert Walter Johnsen, and granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Johnsen, and great-grandson, Nathaniel Walter Johnsen.
Catherine enjoyed reading and caring for her collection of orchids, and in her youth traveling the world.
Catherine was a loving friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was completely dedicated to her family, and the love was reciprocated. There are no words to truly express just how much we will miss her. She was such an important part of our lives.
There will be a small private ceremony at Holy Angels Funeral Center, 1051 Harder Rd.,Hayward, California on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 am. Burial to follow to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
