Mabel Catherine Smith passed away peacefully on November 30 in her home at Mercy Care & Retirement Center in Oakland. Mabel was 94 and had made her home in Oakland and San Leandro her entire life. Her two sisters, Helen Harmon Youngman and Edith Sirhall, preceded her in death and Mabel is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews. She worked as an executive secretary at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory more than 30 years and has been a member of YLI Laurentian Institute #70 more than 70 years. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
