Hopie entered into rest at the age of 69. She was a native of Denver Colorado and raised in Hayward, CA. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Augustine and Dolores Garcia; her brothers Johnny and Lico Garcia; her sisters Rita Ramos and Dolores Burks. Hopie is survived by two sisters Mary Lou Perez and Esther Garcia, both from Gilroy; her son Arthur Gerome Torres III, and her daughter Kimberly Ann Torres Encizo. Grandmother of Arthur Torres IV, Annalys and Jose Rodriguez, Elena and Yolanda Encizo and one great-granddaughter Maya Rodriguez, all of Sacramento, CA, and many many nieces and nephews.
Hopie was very unique, beautiful, loving, caring and had a heart of gold. If everyone in this world had a heart like hers, this world would be a beautiful place. She will be missed!
Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Sorensen Chapel, 1140 B Street, Hayward, CA. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Sorensen Chapel. Burial to follow at Mt. Eden Cemetery in Hayward.
