RESIDENT OF TRACY
Walt died peacefully at home with his wife Gwen by his side. Walt was born and raised in San Leandro. He attended St. Mary's now St. Leander's class of 1943. He graduated from San Leandro High and retired from S & R Pick Up. He also served our Country with the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Gladys Tavis and his son Greg Tavis. He is survived by his wife Gwen of thirty three years, his step children Mitchell, Michael and Debbie (his Angel as he called her). His children Gary, Lynda, Marilynne and Randy. One brother Richard Tavis, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two special step grandchildren D.J. and Dominick who were by his side two days before his passing. He was a talented musician and singer. He loved to dance. The Lord has gained and we have lost a truly loving and kind man. Services have been held.
