RESIDENT OF CASTRO VALLEY
Olivia M. Silva (Ollie) passed away in her sleep on Monday morning, September 26, 2011, in Castro Valley, at the age of 97. Olivia was born and raised in Hayward, California and spent many years serving the communities of Hayward, Castro Valley and Dublin. She was a member of the Dublin San Ramon Women's Club and Catholic Daughters. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Silva of Union City. Olivia is survived by her three daughters, Maryann Francis (Harry), Barbara Bieber and June Evans. Olivia is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Robin Mendez (Bob), Anne Zimmerman, Patrick Scanlon (Becky), Matthew Francis, Bernadette Garrett, Katy Simpson (Duane), Marie Scanlon, Wendy Evans, James Evans and Julie Cochran (Jeff) as well as 23 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great-grandchild and countless friends and relatives.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 4000 East Castro Valley Blvd., Castro Valley, CA at 11:00am with the rosary preceding mass at 10:30am. Private burial services will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
