RESIDENT OF HAYWARD
Herb passed away unexpectedly at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto with his wife Bea by his side. He was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was the middle child of twelve born to Guy and Beulah Stouffer. Herb joined the Navy at the age of 17 during World War II and served for 20 years. When he completed his service, he began a long career in the liquor industry. His career choices took him to many places in the United States and the Far East, but he always came back to the Hayward area that he called home for over 50 years. Herb was an avid tennis player into his 80's. He was known for his sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor. Herb was a life member of the Masonic Lodge and a proud Shriner. He served on the Hayward Area Recreation District (HARD) Foundation Board for several years and was very active in his community.
Herb is preceded in death by his first wife Mildred and his great grandson Kyle, among other family members. He is survived by his wife Beatrice, his daughter Pam Sisco and her family, and his son Herb Jr. The service celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:30am at Holy Angels Funeral Center, 1051 Harder Road, Hayward.
